The team at the customer owns, develops, and advocates their IDP (internal developer portal): Backstage. This means you"ll specialize in understanding the workflows, challenges, and needs of our software developers. You will conduct studies, analyze data, and work closely with our UX and software development teams to implement effective solutions based on your findings. Responsibilities: * Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather deep insights into the daily experiences of our software developers. * Collaborate with leads and developers to translate research findings into actionable design improvements and innovations. * Manage the full cycle of research, from planning and recruiting participants to executing studies and presenting findings. * Work closely with development teams to understand their processes and pain points. * Advocate for user-centr[i]c approaches within the development teams, influencing product strategy and implementation. Required Skills: * Strong background in User Research with a proven track record of conducting and applying research in a software development context. * Experience in software development environments, understanding key processes and typical challenges faced by developers. * Ability to synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. * Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills: * Advanced knowledge of User Experience (UX) principles and a good understanding of how to integrate user research into the UX design process. * Experience with UX design tools and methodologies to prototype and iterate on solutions based on user feedback. * Proficiency in data analysis tools and methods to support research findings. Desirable Skills: * Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. * Experience with digital tool development for workflow enhancement. * Knowledge of current trends in software development and user experience.
